Children's Kempo Jiu Jitsu

Although many individuals may choose a martial arts studio based solely on geographic convenience or price, we feel that studying martial arts is a life learning experience that can have a profound impact on your child's development. Therefore, we want to make sure you have all the facts before making this important decision. Because of the powerful influence a black belt instructor has on a child, this decision must not be made solely on the philosophy of the studio, but on the instructor's training and actual ability to translate this philosophy to your child.

We focus on two major areas for children in our Martial Arts program.

Physical

We do this through what we call the Martial Arts basics. Karate stances, kicks, punches, and blocking patterns are part of these basics. We believe in a strong foundation in the basic karate movements. The basic karate movements also dramatically improve your child's focus and concentration skills. Although there are many instances where children are described as having "limited attention spans", we believe that this is not an accurate description of the situation with the majority of children. In fact, most children are paying attention to everything around them at once. Therefore, our Kempo Karate training is not only essential for the Martial Arts, but is also an invaluable tool for concentration and focus.

Character Development

Next and most important, United Studios believes in strong character development, the basic morals of caring for others, being kind, contributing to the family's welfare and the importance of academics and strong leadership skills. This results in tremendous self esteem and respect for self and others, ensuring success not only in the Martial Arts but in many other important areas in your child's life now and in the future. United Studios' instructors are continually trained in all areas of teaching, including both the physical and mental development of specific age groups.
